The University of Applied Arts Vienna plans to significantly expand its digital and hybrid infrastructure by acquiring state-of-the-art technical equipment for its centrally bookable rooms (ZBR) that is tailored to the needs of hybrid work and learning environments. The focus is on interactive 4K-displays with integrated video conferencing solutions that enable flexible use through multi-touch functionality, AI-powered camera systems, and high-quality audio equipment. This is complemented by video conferencing systems, microphones, presentation adapters, network solutions, as well as ergonomic mounting systems and digital expansion modules that ensure optimal integration into the existing infrastructure. These technological solutions are intended to connect physical and digital spaces and elevate communication and work processes to a new level.

All faculty, researchers, and students at the university will benefit from this equipment. The new technologies promote hybrid teaching and working formats, facilitate international collaboration, and enhance the quality of teaching and research. At the same time, the accessible and inclusive design of the devices and spaces ensures that all user groups benefit equally.

The acquisition supports the university’s strategic focus on digitalization, accessibility, inclusion, and internationalization. It strengthens the digital transformation and positions the university as a pioneer in the use of modern technologies. Furthermore, it increases the visibility of the University of Applied Arts and Vienna as a center of science, as the infrastructure can also be used for public events and international networking.
