An Off-the-Shelf Agent-Based Modeling Toolkit for Economic Forecasting and Policy Analysis

This project will develop open-source software transforming the methodological framework created by the Viennese Agent Based Modeling team of economists from an expert tool into an accessible application for a broader community of users that includes social scientists and policymakers. We will develop a robust, automated data pipeline interfacing with Eurostat and other public APIs to eliminate manual data gathering, a country-agnostic model template enabling calibration for any European economy within hours rather than weeks, and a complete application with intuitive interfaces for calibration, simulation, forecasting, and policy analysis.
