INNO-DEAL

The WWTF is one of altogether twelve partners to the Eureopean Union’s INNO-DEAL project. Financed within the scope of the 6th EU Framework Programme, the project has a run time from September 2006 to August 2009.

The project focuses on regional measures to finance start-ups and spin-offs together with other measures to support founders. The twelve regions involved in the projects, which are characterised by quite different socioeconomic parameters, cooperate to develop common terms for a systematic exchange of experience and good practices with existing start-up and spin-off programmes. Regular initiatives to promote supra-regional collaboration are designed to create a common basis for concrete cooperative ventures between the programmes involved.
The WWTF does not actually handle an entrepreneurship programme of its own, but it still has established long-term contacts to national and regional agencies in support of entrepreneurship and is therefore able to contribute its experience to the analysis phase of the project.

The Final Conference within the INNO-DEAL project, entitled »How to Provide Solutions for Innovative and Creative Start-ups in Uncertain Times«, took place in Ljubljana (Grand Hotel Union) on 2 July 2009. The representatives of the European Commission, governments, organisations of business support environment and academia presented their views on ensuring a successful support to innovative and creative companies, also taking into account the current global economic situation. Special attention was paid to the five areas of cooperation that were identified within the INNO-DEAL project. We brought the conference to an end by signing the Cooperation Agreements.
